Instruction for people, training for dogs

Welcome to Dogtrain, one of, if not the longest running balanced training business in Wilmington! We have been in business for more than 30 years serving Wilmington, Hampstead, Leland, Carolina Beach, and more! Our goal is to help owners transform their dogs into wonderful companions. We offer group classes, private appointments, and much more!

Basic Training

Our family oriented training classes encourage the participation of ALL family members. We believe that a good companion dog needs to be responsive to everyone in the family, not just one person. We teach useful life skills which enable dogs and their families to have more fun together! All classes are held inside at our facility.

Beyond Advanced Training

We offer Continuing Education opportunities with our Competition Class, as well as ongoing Rally and Introduction to Agility classes. The prerequisites for participation in these groups are satisfactory completion of both the Beginner and Advanced level classes.

Specialized Training

We offer a Retriever Day School which is ideal for hunters who would prefer to keep their family dogs at home during training for field work and/or Hunt Tests.

We are also now offering Family Dog Day School which is ideal for clients who would like more concentrated training help for their family pets, but would prefer to not send them away for weeks. Beginner Class is a pre-requisite for Day School.

Dogs are dropped off and picked up daily depending on the training program selected. We DO NOT BOARD dogs.
